Soliloquy in October
Beom-sik, Son
On a day when the cosmos in full bloom
Wave their hands in a warm welcome,
The gentle autumn breeze brushing past my cheek softly
Wraps around my shoulders.
In that tender warmth,
The deep solitude pooled within my heart is tinged,
Before I know it, with beautiful colors.
Watching those leaves beautifully falling
As they just begin to change their colors,
I quietly walk along a path of my own,
A path where I fill myself by emptying,
leaving no footprints, only the whispering wind.
Though I walk alone,
I am never lonely at this corner of green October,
The whole world before my eyes is so dazzlingly bright.
