• Father and Eldest Uncle
[Being Killed in action around 2:00 PM on May 14, 1953, in the Battle of Geum-hwa District: Iron Triangle (Cheol-won/Geum-hwa/Pyeong-gang)]

• Merit Details: The late Warrant Officer Son Gyeong-o served as a member of the 1st National Defense Guard after liberation. Following the outbreak of the Korean War, he stood at the forefront more than anyone else in numerous battles, including the Battle of the Iron Triangle (Cheorwon, Geumhwa, Pyeonggang), achieving remarkable military feats. He was killed in action during the Battle of Geumhwa District around 2:00 PM on May 14, 1953, amidst fierce combat with enemy forces. (Notice of Death: Posthumous Promotion of 2 Ranks)

• It was truly a grueling battle to turn the tide of time. I extend my deep gratitude to the officials of the Ministry of National Defense and the National Cemetery who struggled tirelessly to find relevant materials.

• Date Written: February 2015 / Date Modified: April 2026.

[Hero of the korean war: My Eldest Uncle and Father]
1. First photo: My eldest uncle.
2. Second photo: Father

In my old photos which was faded and torn hometown album,
there are hardly any people who are still alive.
That is why I hate looking at it.

Why did my grandfather tear up the last two remaining photos of his eldest son like this?
Pain? Psin? Pain? Was his pain that great?

The photo at the very bottom is my uncle's grandson, which is called Jilson in korean (my nephew who is our family's the eldest son of the eldest son ). He has grown into a handsome and capable young man.
