[In terms of the rapid changes in the world,
we also have to change our ways of thinking in that the world is changing rapidly.
→ 급변하는 세상을 고려하면, 우리 또한 사고방식을 바꿔야 한다.

* In terms of = in view of: ~면에서, ~관점에서, ~을 고려하면(considering, take into ~ consideration).  * our ways of thinking: 우리의 사고 방식.

안녕하세요? 정말 훌륭한 질문입니다.
[in that] 맞습니다. 여기서 'that'이 관계대명사로 쓰여 [전치사 + that]으로 사용되었다면, 관계대명사 that 앞에는 전치사가 올 수 없기에 틀린 문장이 맞습니다. ①전치사 + who(O), ②전치사 + which(O), ③전치사 + that(X)

[That's a really great question. [in that] That's right. Here, if 'that' is used as a relative pronoun and is used as [preposition + that], the sentence is incorrect because a preposition cannot come before the relative pronoun that. ①Preposition + who(O), ②Preposition + which(O), ③Preposition + that(X)]

하지만 위 문장의 [in that]은 관계대명사가 아닌 접속사로 사용되었습니다. [in that]은 뒤 절이 완벽하고, 앞 문장에 대한 구체적인 이유나 근거를 보충할 때 사용되며, "~라는 점에서", "~라는 의미에서"의 뜻입니다. (= in the sense that, in the fact that). 숙어처럼 암기하시기 바랍니다.

[However, in the above sentence, [in that] is used as a conjunction, not a relative pronoun. [in that] is used when the subsequent clause is complete and supplements a specific reason or basis for the previous sentence. It means “in the sense of” or “in the sense of”. (= in the sense that, in the fact that). Please memorize it like an idiom.]

수능 어법 문제(고르기)나 토익시험에 아주 자주 출제되는 구문으로 확실히 숙달하시기 바랍니다. 굉장히 중요합니다. 이 내용은 '영어 표현' 게시판에 나중에 올려 드리겠습니다. 관계대명사인지? 접속사인지?의 구별은 뒤 문장의 완벽성에 있습니다.

[Be sure to master the vocabulary questions (selection) of the CSAT and phrases that are frequently asked in the TOEIC test. It's very important. We will post this information later on the 'English __EXPRESSION__s' bulletin board. Is it a relative pronoun? The distinction between whether it is a conjunction or not lies in the completeness of the following sentence.]

아래는 시간이 나서 잠시 설명해 드리겠습니다.
(I will explain this 'cause I have free time.)

1. 관계대명사 that.
 * This is a house. + I live in the house.
= This is a house (which) I live in. (O)
= This is a house (that) I live in. (O) ← 관계대명사 뒤 문장이 완벽하지 않지요?
= This is a house in which I live. (O)
  = This is a house where I live (O).
      (전치사 + 관계대명사 = 관계부사)
= This is a house in that I live. (X)

(관계대명사 who나 which를 that으로 바꾸면 that 앞에 전치사 사용 불가)
 관계대명사의 생략: 1.목적격  2.주격+be 동사

2. 접속사 that.
 * we also have to change our ways of thinking /in that/ the world is changing rapidly.

"in that"이 없어도 문장 2개가 완벽하게 성립하고, 뒤 문장이 앞 문장에 대한 이유를 설명하고 있기 때문에 접속사 that으로 in that 맞습니다.

[Even without “in that,” the two sentences are perfectly formed, and since the latter sentence explains the reason for the previous sentence, in that is correct with the conjunction that.]

[문제] 다음 둘 중 올바른 하나를 고르세요?
we also have to change our ways of thinking  (in that, in which) the world is changing rapidly. → 거의 오답 in which로 답을 고릅니다. 그래서 시험에 자주 출제되는 겁니다.

아주 중요합니다. 이거 문제 나오면 무조건 1문제 맞추는 겁니다.
조만간 [now that 과 in that] 차이점을 알려 드리겠습니다. 이것까지 알아야 토익을 정복할 수 있습니다.

다만, 이런 문법적인 영어가 기본은 될 수 있어도 실전에선 "꽝" 이라는 겁니다.
[예비고사 → 학력고사 → 수능]으로 교육이 변해 왔는데  ...
이제은 외국어 영역 시험은 1. 듣기 40% 2. 말하기 40% 3. 읽기(문법) 20% 로 바꾸는 대대적 교육제도의 전반적인 개편이 필요하다고 생각합니다.

[However, although this kind of grammatical English may be basic, it is a “failure” in practice. Education has changed with [preliminary exam →Scholastic ability test → The College Scholastic Ability Test.] Now, I think we need a major overhaul of the education system to change the foreign language test to 1. 40% listening, 2. 40% speaking, and 3. 20% reading (grammar)].

I will always keep my fingers crossed for you.
