[김은정]님이 요청하신 영문일기

오랜만에 고등학교 친구를 만났다.
졸업을 하고 처음이여서 그랬는지 서로 많이 변했고 어색한 면도 쫌 있었다.
그 친구는 나처럼 대학에 진학해서 다니는 친구가 아니라
일찍부터 취업을 해서 자기 자리를 잡아놓은 친구였다.
벌써 돈도 많이 모아놓은거 같았고,
사회인이라 그런지 많이 어른스러워 보였다.
친구와 많은얘기를 했다.
난 대학생활에 대한얘기,
친구는 사회생활을 하면서 겪은얘기..........
그런데 난 내 얘기를 하면서 조금 부끄러움을 느꼈다.
열심히 노력하는 그 친구에 비해 난 너무 편하게만 지낸거 같아서......
생각했었던것 만큼 대학생활을 잘 보내지 못했던 내가 너무 못나보였고.....
미래에 대해선 하나도 생각하고있지 않던 내가 너무 싫었다..
사회라는 험단한 길위에서 내 자신이 당당해 지기 위해서라도
나 자신에게 정말 많은 충고를 해줘야겠다...

난 은정님의 현재 모습이 가장 아름답다고 생각합니다.
친구의 성공을 너무 부러워 하지 마시고
은정님이 서있는 곳에서 최선을 다하기를 바랍니다.
난 은정님이 후에 더 성공할거라는걸 확신하고 있답니다.
은정님이 더 훌륭한 사람이 될거라 생각합니다.

I met an old high school friend of mine after a long separation.
Being the first meeting afer graduation,
we quite changed each other and felt out of place a litte.
(There was an awkward aspect a littel between us.
he didn't go to college like me but he was employed early to find a position.
he already seemed to save money a lot and behave like a grown-up.
Maybe It was because he lived socially.
we had long talk.
I spoke regarding a college life and my friend spoke of experiences in social life
By the way I felt ashamed a litte, taling of my life.
I seemed to have lived comfortably too nuch,
compared with my freind who always had done his best.
I was very ashamed of my life in which I didn't live as well as I had thought.
I abominated myself because I didn't have any plan of my future.
I will give myself a lot of advice so that I might put myself on this society of a thorny path grandly.
Dear Eun-jung Kim
I think that the way you are is the most beautiful,
Don't be envious of friend's success.
I hope that you will try your best at the position you are located.
I am sure that you will succeed in the future.
I think you are more valuable person than he.
