*만약 당신이 명확하고 중심적인 생각을 정하고, 흥미로운 주제문에 그것을 표현하고, 그것을 뒷받침 해주는 세부적인 사항들을 선택했다면, 당신의 단락(글)을 쓰기란 비교적 쉬운 일이다
* 등위접속사의 병렬관계를 묻는 문장입니다. *once: 일단~한다면 * settle on (생각 끝에) ~을 정하다 * once you have로 연결되는 단어는 settled, expressed 그리고 choosing 아니라 형태가 같아야 함으로 chosen으로 써야함이 옳습니다.
2. Not only a nuclear breeder reactor generate energy , but it also produces fuel for other fission reactors.
* 핵 증식 원자로(a nuclear breeder reactor)는 에너지를 발생시킬뿐만 아니라 다른 핵분열(fission) 원자로를 위한 연료를 생산한다. * reactor:원자로 *generate:발생시키다 *fission:핵분열
* not only ~ but also = ~as well as~ = not merely~but also = not just ~but also: ~뿐만 아니라 ~
* 원 문장은 A nuclear breeder reactor not only generates energy , but it also produdces fuel for other fission reactors. 이 원문장에서 not only를 앞으로 도치 시킨 문장입니다. 타동사인 경우, 부사구가 앞으로 도치되었을때 순서는 [조동사+주어+본동사] 순입니다. 따라서 Not only does a nuclear breeder reactor generate energy , but it also produces fuel for other fission reactors로 고쳐야 함이 옳습니다.^^
* 참고로 I never dreamed that you would leave me. 이 문장에서 never를 앞으로 도치시키면 어떻게 될까요...Never did i dream that~이 되겠죠

한 경찰관이 폭행(공격)당하고, 무장해제되고, 자기자신의 총으로 저격당한 후에 멍해졌지만,
중상을 입지 않는한(다르게는 중상을 입지 않았고) 경찰관이 버려진 부두에서 그를 공격한 자를 추격하며 우려한다.
*assault:폭행하다(be assaulted:폭행당하다) *disarm:무장해제시키다(be disarmed:무장해제되다) *shoot:총을 쏘다, 총으로 죽이다(be shot:저격당하다) *daze: 멍하게 하다, 눈부시게하다 * assailant: 공격자, 살해자 *deserted: 버려진, 사람이 살지 않은 * piar:부두, 방파 *otherwise: 1. 만약 그렇치 않다면(if~not). 2. 다른 방법으로(다르게, 달리) 3. 다른 점에서
여기서 otherwise는 부사로 쓰이고 있습니다.
ex) He skinned his shins but otherwise he was not injured.(그는 정강이가 까졌을뿐 다른데는(다르게는) 다치지 않았다) 보통 otherwise는 부정의 의미가 내포되어 있습니다. 이런 단어는 일반적으로 문장에서 빼 내어 버리고 해석을 한다면 쉽게 해결됩니다. 그럼 수고하세요^^
